Apprentice Development Coach (Automotive Technicians) Business - Raytheon Professional Services Luton & Bedfordshire based with travel. Home working arrangement may be viable option for the right candidates who is willing & able to get to Luton as Business requires. The positions have the following key responsibilities: Delivery of training for a cohort of young people, Apprentice (16-24) or Young Apprentices (14-16) Qualification assessment for the cohort of young people Course development Marketing and recruitment activities Administration The ideal candidate will possess the following profile: Industry recognised qualifications Recent, relevant work experience in the Automotive Sector Experience of training and assessment preferred, but is not a requirement for application. Experience of working within an Ofsted regulated organisation preferred but is not a requirement for application. The ability to work independently and proactively to meet programme deadlines. Knowledge and experience of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project), Lotus Notes and internet. Clean UK Driving License Job description To deliver a high standard of teaching to an allocated cohort of learners. Lessons are to meet the standards of internal and external requirements and in line with Raytheon Professional Services Apprentice Curriculum. To provide professional NVQ monitoring and assessment for trainees and employers, using a wide range of learning materials and maintaining records to monitor trainee progress and achievement. Market and recruit apprentices for the programme to ensure a minimum cohort is maintained individually and on the programme overall Main duties and responsibilities · Classroom delivery of automotive and key skills programmes · To assist in the development of schemes of work, session plans, learning materials and apprentice assignments and assessments. · To act as tutor / mentor to learners, providing academic guidance and support. · To assist in the preparation and development of practical tasks and facilities · Carry out induction training at employing placements and at the training centre as detailed in the scheme of work Carry in company review visits at work place, carry out review with employer and learners. Frequency of reviews for each apprentice in accordance with current plan / procedures Conduct workplace assessments, gather evidence, assess progress, observe work practices and update trainee records in accordance with current procedures. Advise and counsel trainees as necessary regarding training, welfare and discipline. · To carry out assessment of learners\' work and examinations in accordance with internal and external criteria, ensuring that quality standards are developed and maintained. · Liaison with the employing placements to ensure co-ordination between on-the-job and off-the-job training · Liaison with Schools and Local Authorities (Young Apprenticeship Programmes) · Participate in careers and marketing events as necessary · Market / promote the programme to employers · Recruit targeted number of new starts · Promote a safe working environment in accordance with current Raytheon Environmental and Health and Safety (EHS) legislation Carry our Health and Safety monitoring of employers to ensure adequate facilities, insurance and statutory Health and Safety requirements. · Actively promote Equal Opportunities and diversity in accordance with our policies to ensure employer and trainee compliance and to ensure that no individual is discriminated against. · To be at all times a positive ambassador for both the company and the client Working relationships: · Customer · Apprentices (Including 14-16) · Employing Placements · Parents · Colleagues · External Verifiers (Awarding Bodies) · Sector Skills Council · Senior Management Team Key Competencies required for role: · Must be well organised · Understanding of customers views and needs (Employers & Learners). · Produce clear and accurate data within given deadlines · Good Communication skills and deliver at all levels and using a variety of media · Be able to work on own and within a team. · Have a passion for own and others development · Creative, responsive, able to work under pressure and to tight time-scales and deadlines · Confident and adept when dealing with trainees, parents, employers and awarding bodies · To maintain your Individual Career Professional Development in line with awarding bodies, Ofsted, Institute for Learning and Raytheon standards Educational Attainments: · GCSE in English and maths or equivalent · GCSE in IT or equivalent · Relevant trade qualification · Teacher qualifications (7407, PTTLS & Certificate of Education) beneficial but not imperative · Assessor qualifications (A1 & D32, D33) beneficial but not imperative Key Performance Indicators: · Learner cohort volume (Ratio of learners maintained at 1-28) · Number of teaching hours delivered · Timely completion of learner achievements · Learners progress against milestone targets · Timely in company review visits · Teaching observation grades · Employer, Learner & Awarding Body feedback Company Information Raytheon Professional Services (RPS) is a division of Raytheon Company.
