Job Description
Our client is a leading national charity with a network of care homes across the UK. They are looking for a General Manager for a recently opened flagship service in the Bedfordshire area. This newly built home has state of the art facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, theatre, pc suite, restaurant and cafe. It is a care home with nursing and a specialist dementia unit offering places for up to 62 service users. The home is set in a stunning country park with generous grounds for use by residents and their families. It is accessed by a tree lined drive providing a grand and prestigious setting. The home also provides facilities for the local community.You will have experience at a senior level within the health or social care sector, which includes direct line management, budget responsibilities, a good understanding of person centred care and an ability to support and manage staff teams. The successful applicant will have proven experience as a care home manager registered with CQC. You will need to hold NVQ4/RMA and ideally be RN qualified..Good communication and administration skills, the ability to prioritise and cope with a busy and varied workload is essential. Above all you will need to demonstrate empathy towards older people and an understanding of their needs. You will be directly responsible to the area manager and also oversee the supported living facilities that will be developed on site.
